In this role, you'll be overseeing customer service workers while also managing the store's front end and making useful suggestions regarding the overall functioning of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. This position will involve assisting the Store Manager with overall store operations to accomplish the organization's objectives.
You'll be required to establish an alternate work plan with the Store Manager that minimizes overlap, and you'll be taking over all the store operations in the Store Manager's absence. You'll also be required to ensure correct product presentation, protective measures for the store's assets and work towards enhancing the store's sales and profitability.
Team leader responsibilities include managing the store personnel, which involves hiring, performance assessment, and imposing discipline on supervised personnel to assure engaged and productive teams.
Customer Experience:
- Maintaining customer relations by greeting them and assisting with services and products.
- Handling customer complaints promptly and answering customer inquiries to provide a positive customer experience.
- Guiding and educating your team to ensure excellent customer service.
- Seeking solutions that exceed customer expectations and build customer loyalty.
- Overseeing customer service, providing training, coaching and executing plans for improvement in both front-end and pharmacy aspects of the store.
- Ensuring improvement on key customer service metrics.
Operations:
- Supervising the store operations and staff, including appointing daily tasks, assigning work to team members, managing shifts, approving time records, leaves and handling scheduling conflicts to ensure proper staff coverage.
- Collaborating with external partners for long-term store plans.
- Supporting Store Manager in making informed, data-driven decisions.
- Supervising cash management at the store including register counts, bank transactions, armored car pickups, safe deposits and oversees bookkeeping.
- Supervising front end and pharmacy inventory, executing adjustments and price modifications.
- Ensuring execution of operational feedback from the Store Manager and District Manager through effective team management.
- Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of store interiors and exterior.
- Ensuring all team members have working knowledge of all technology systems and software.
- Complying with all company policies and procedures, and ensuring operations of the assigned location including strict compliance with any laws and regulations.
Full Store Operation Business Performance Management:
- Independently analyzing financial and performance data to create action plans to achieve business targets.
- Using operating statements, key performance indicators, and other relevant tools to drive store improvement.
People & Performance Management:
- Overseeing and training team members; providing training, mentoring, coaching, and support to enable team members’ career development.
- Managing team member performance by assigning responsibilities, developing performance plans.
- Building a diverse pipeline of talent, planning for staffing needs and participating in the interview process.
- Establishing a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
Training & Personal Development:
- Successfully completing Store Manager learning and development program.
- Monitoring own performance, seeking continuous feedback, and committing to self-development.
Communications:
- Regularly communicating with team members to ensure open communication.
- Assisting Store Manager in planning and communicating the company and store strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, OR prior satisfactory completion of a Walgreens Community Internship Program.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, professional business ethics, self-motivation, strong communication skills and business acumen.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and accept promotion into a Store Manager position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- External candidates can have prior retail or food industry experience.
