Retail Assistant

Job Description:

Striving to provide an unforgettable shopping experience, the Retail Assistant collaborates with the ALDI team to keep the store's appearance at its finest. Cashiering, merchandising, and stocking responsibilities, along with maintaining the store's cleanliness, are all carried out effectively by the Retail Assistant.

• Position Type: Full-Time
• The customary working hours fall anywhere from 32 to 40 hours per week

• Store assistants are responsible for conducting customer transactions, undertaking maintenance duties, and displaying merchandise in a clean and well-organized fashion
• Customers can experience exceptional service when staff members engage with them in a courteous and professional manner, making them feel valued and appreciated
• Work closely with your team members and maintain clear and open lines of communication with the store management team
• In order for management to maintain control over operations, it is important that they are kept informed on any issues that arise pertaining to products, inventory losses, scanning inaccuracies, and other concerns
• Observe inventory count regulations and validate inventory accuracy
• Adherence to established cash policies and procedures is critical in minimizing financial loss
• Maintains the security and confidentiality of sensitive information by closely adhering to established company guidelines and policies
• Additional responsibilities

Physical Demands:

• Proficiency in transferring merchandise from the store's receiving area to the shelves, as well as the ability to arrange products weighing up to 45 pounds at varying heights on the shelves
• The store necessitates the fulfillment of many physical obligations like sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking regularly
• The expectation is that all employees can execute their job requirements, regardless of any potential accommodation needs

Qualifications:

• ALDI stipulates that all applicants for the position must be at least 18 years old or above
• Skill in presenting rapid and amiable assistance to clients
• Efficiency and accuracy in using cash registers can also facilitate the task of accounting for a business's financial transactions
• Proficiency in managing equipment, namely cardboard balers, floor scrubbers, and electric and manual hand jacks, with precision and caution
• Aptitude to undertake cleaning duties as per the prescribed company standards
• Knowing how to properly interpret and apply company policies and procedures is a mark of a professional and conscientious employee
• Aptitude for clear and concise verbal and written communication
• Being adaptable and comfortable with both independent and teamwork is a sought-after skill
• Being skilled at staying organized, having a sharp eye for details, following instructions, and performing multiple duties competently and efficiently
• Take measures to verify that customers are of legal drinking age by checking identification when selling or serving alcoholic beverages in accordance with state law

Education and Experience:

• It is advantageous to have a high school diploma or an equivalent degree
• A retail background is a valuable asset
• Combining education with relevant experience can yield the same level of competence
