Job Summary of Territory Sales Manager:

The main objective of this role is to achieve sales and profitability goals by promoting food and non-food products to existing and potential customers. Key duties include being the principal point of contact for customer relations, sales, and driving customer engagement through value-added activities. In addition, utilizing other resources to expand sales opportunities and prospect new accounts.

Responsibilities of Territory Sales Manager:

  • Nurture the connection with clients in a collaborative selling approach.
  • Follow the transportation department's published routing schedule to ensure timely deliveries while resolving any issues that arise during the order process such as incorrect deliveries, inadequate loading quantities, and product shortages.
  • Work with the credit department and clients to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable; communicate effectively to minimize payment delays.
  • Utilize additional tools and methods to support the successful penetration of top accounts and opening of new ones.
  • Finding new clients is an integral part of growing your business. You can use market intelligence databases, directories, and customer referrals to locate potential leads. Additionally, joining organizations and attending trade shows are excellent ways to expand your network.
  • Familiarize yourself with market trends, new product launches, and analyze your competitors' offerings, pricing strategies, and sales performance. This information will enable you to offer better value-added benefits to your clients.
  • Operate an automobile to transport products to current and potential clients, with the possibility of having to lift or move loads weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • The personnel involved in this process include the District Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager, the VP of Local Sales, the Accounting and Credit Department, the Merchandising and Marketing team, Operations, and the Customer Contact team.
  • Customers, vendors, and potential customers outside of the company are the external partners that businesses interact with.

Work Environment for Territory Sales Manager:
