Material Expediter

Description

SAIC is seeking a Material Expeditor in Charleston, SC.

Job Duties:

• Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between warehouse and production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities.


• Compiles and interprets inventory reports and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.


• Locates and distributes materials to specified production area using mobile stair platform, handcart, pallet jack, or forklift.


• Records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, through use of computer and CMPRo database.


• Prepares and ships material to customer locations.


• May examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts. Submits change requests in database when appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• High school education or equivalent (GED) and two (2) years related experience.


• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).


• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.


• Must have the ability to operate effectively in a team environment and able to take direction and constructive criticism.


• Must be able to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision.


• Experience in material procurement is desired but not required.

Required Clearance:

Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
