The amount of money that is paid when starting employment is $19.01 per hour

The office timing ranges from 11 pm to 5 am, Monday to Friday

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Move freight to or from trailers for loading or unloading at the dock area.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use suitable forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to manage cargo handling operations effectively.
  • Ensure that the shipment paperwork matches the description of the freight, including the type of goods, weight, and any hazardous materials, through the use of modern electronic or manual record-keeping systems.
  • Use proper equipment and materials (such as ropes, straps, and pallets) to fasten cargo securely in trailers.
  • Restore and fix impaired cargo as needed.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork and reports have been thoroughly checked and are complete.
  • Offer support to clients with their shipment and necessary documentation.
  • In case of necessity, complete the task of hostling.
  • Follow all relevant laws and regulations, along with the established policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Carry out any other tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ideally, possessing a high school diploma or an equivalent certification is desired.
  • You must have crossed the legal age of 18 years.
  • Those who possess past involvement in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations are preferred.
  • Prior experience in hostler/yard mule responsibilities is ideal for the job.
  • Capacity to calculate and solve simple numerical problems, whether with or without the use of an electronic device.
  • Adequate written and oral communication abilities are important for success in both personal and professional settings.
  • Having the capacity to lift and transport various hand-held objects of different weights multiple times every week, hoisting dock plates that can weigh around 100 pounds, and opening trailer doors that need about 75 pounds of lift force, frequently many times per day.
  • Skilled in performing physical maneuvers such as bending, twisting, and squatting to handle freight during the entire work schedule.
  • The capacity to function autonomously and/or as part of a team.
  • Experience in dock or warehouse operations is highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The dock atmosphere is characterized by diverse weather conditions, exhaust emissions, fumes, dust, and noise exposure.
  • Operational requirements may lead to variations in working hours.
  • Consistent interactions with representatives of service centers, in a rapid-paced, deadline-driven environment.
