Summary:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational therapy, or speech/language pathology.
- MBA or advanced management degree preferred.
- Three to five years clinical experience and one or more years experience in a supervisory role.
- Illinois Licensure in State of Illinois in Clinical PT, OT or SLP
Responsibilities:
- Assists with development/revisions/updates for service line specific policies and procedures as necessary.
- Implements and develops new and existing programming in accordance with service line.
- Works with staff to identify opportunities for program development.
- Develops and implements appropriate treatment interventions based on physician referred and PT examination and evaluates results of interventions while using EBP.
- Effectively communicates daily with staff re: work flow, volumes, etc.
- Evaluates patients and assesses cardiopulmonary, neuromuscular musculoskeletal and functional mobility status and integumentary systems.
- Facilitates and performs staff chart/charge auditing in a manner that supports compliance with all governing rules and regulations including 3-hour rule/IRF-PAI measures.
- Is involved with recruitment/retention efforts and programming.
- Responsible for developing new programs
- Knowledge of the budgeting process, acquiring minor equipment and capital requests throughout the year from staff for submission to director for the following year's budget.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation including personalized patient education and plan of care.
- Manages nursing relations and interdisciplinary communication within the hospital. Involves self and staff in interdisciplinary rounding
- Manages reward and recognition of staff members, develops and participates in activities to improve employee satisfaction, and conducts performance appraisals.
- Manages variances of FTEs, expenses, volumes
- Meets the following productivity percentages in all treatment areas: less than or equal to 39.99 (NI), 40-41.99 (ME), 42-43.99 (M & SE), greater than or equal to 44 (CE)Oversees patient and staff scheduling to ensure patient needs are met. (including weekends, holidays, and continuing education).
- Oversees payroll reports, monitors and approves vacation, Kronos changes, etc.
- Oversees QA monitoring and data collection. Collects defined key statistics.
- Ensures best practices for service line.
- Participates in and manages physician relations and referral development activities and manages staff participation in this area including staff relationships with referring customers.
- Participates in interdepartmental and organization wide committees or meetings as appropriate and holds regular team meetings.
- Participates in Quality Improvement efforts, e.g., Journal Club, inservices, Magnet. Supports department UBC and staff completion of inservices.
- Submits monthly report to Director of Rehabilitation Services.
