Software Test Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Ownership of specific team and/or game area

  • Reports and regresses bugs to validate that they have been addressed correctly and vets to ensure quality standards

  • Assists Test Leads and/or Software Test Engineers in test co-ordination and test status reporting

  • Uses own gaming knowledge and exploratory testing skills to identify potential issues and risk areas within the product

  • Provides feedback and suggestions to improve game quality, game experience, and testing processes

  • Acting as an expert within the assigned testing areas

  • Managing, supervising, and training a team of testers

  • Reporting test status, project risk assessment, schedule, and project requirements

  • Direct cooperation and communication with customer and other internal or external teams

  • Resolving basic problems encountered during the project

  • Sharing knowledge with other members of testing team (participation in internal training scheme)

  • Internal quality control

  • Participation in tester recruitment process

  • Performing administrative tasks and other activities necessary for the proper conduct of work assigned by the supervisor

  • Creates, runs and maintains test cases if required


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideally, a minimum 1 year of quality assurance experience

  • Very good understanding of quality assurance processes, test scope requirements and testing methods

  • Working knowledge and experience using bug tracking tools

  • Strong game playing abilities and good understanding of the various genres

  • Ability to meet deadlines and quotas

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

  • Good organizing and time management skills

  • Leadership skills

  • Very good performance in a previous testing role

  • Patience and persistence for repetitive work
