Nursing Consultant - Optum
As a Nursing Consultant with Optum, you will play a vital role in providing clinical consultation and expertise to healthcare organizations to optimize patient care. This dynamic position requires a deep understanding of nursing practices and the ability to provide strategic guidance for process improvement and program development. Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of nursing practices and processes within healthcare organizations
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance quality of care
- Develop and implement nursing programs and initiatives tailored to meet the unique needs of each organization
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff, providing education and support to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing programs and initiatives, making adjustments as needed
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in nursing practices, sharing knowledge with colleagues and clients
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field; master's degree preferred
- Current and unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with a focus on acute care or ambulatory care
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead and manage projects, ensuring successful implementation and completion
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems
