Position Summary:

Assist customers, maintain food cases, and sell deli products. In the absence of the Service Deli Section Manager, manage and maximize the financial performance of the service deli department. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

Essential Job Functions:

Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
Maintain compliance with the following:
divisional merchandising, general and food safety, fixtures and equipment usage and maintenance, and shrink control
corporate policies
labor agreements, when applicable
quality ordering
freight stocking standards
Sell products to customers; teach selling skills
Plan ads/store events
Implement weekly Merchandise Notes/bulletins, and memos to complete merchandising assignments
Maintain an awareness of daily/weekly sales and goals and communicate to associates
Implement the period promotional plan
Perform price changes, audit, and correct errors
Promote and follow Company initiatives
Perform cashier functions
Verify completion of daily tours
Assist in writing the schedule
Maintain clean facilities
Review and take action on all financial reports
Respond to verbal and written customer comments
Complete customer incident and associate incident/accident report forms, when necessary
Perform inventory
All store management work with associates to manage all common associate areas (i.e. break rooms and training areas) to make sure they are inviting in appearance and reflect "Our People Are Great"
Assist in coaching Service Deli Section Managers' direct reports in the performance of their duties; provide information for completion of performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Position Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus six months of Fred Meyer experience and one year related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum 18 years of age
Ability to pass drug test
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift and work overtime as needed
Ability to travel independently on an occasional basis
Maintain confidentiality
Accuracy/attention to detail
Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
Ability to work within set time frames
Ability to continue education
Valid driver's license
Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license
Any licenses or certificates required by federal and/or state

Desired Previous Job Experience:

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and current Company email
Experience directing and participating on project teams
