We manage the critically acclaimed and award-winning Apple Originals in Apple TV+. The Apple TV Services team employ talent and tools to smoothly ingest and process a wide array of media assets. They work cross-functionally to handle video flow from content ingestion, playback, transcoding, live streaming, and virtually everything else it takes to make the experience as seamless as possible.
In this role, you'll serve as an expert on Apple's Original Content and Live Streaming media supply chain, leading projects with Apple's engineering teams to improve the Apple TV product, customer experience, and internal efficiencies enabling it all. Join us to see what else is possible.
Key Qualifications
Able to work across multiple simultaneous projects in a dynamic environment
Proven experience successfully collaborating with a diverse group of teams and individuals across numerous business functions
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to cater communications based on audience
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills along with acute attention to detail for executive briefings and status reports
Keen understanding of metadata and asset management systems related to TV show, movie production, and live events
Extensive working experience with live event scheduling systems, encoding, HLS, and Live to VOD workflows
Strong desire and skills in soliciting requirements and translating this into effective project plans with comprehensive documentation
Understanding of complex digital supply chains as it relates to pre/physical/post production, marketing, design, legal, engineering workflows
Ability to drive projects forward autonomously, and understand when to communicate important concepts and status to peers and leadership groups
Ability to assess bold priorities, and intuition on how to drive resolutions
Description
We are looking for an experienced project manager who has a real passion for the technical aspects of post-production, post-house encoding, and live event media operations. Apple has a unique distribution platform for original content, and the team you will be a part of is responsible for requirements, planning and engineering execution of the tools, processes and relationships in this domain - including but not limited to Apple TV+ and other Apple original content efforts.
Above all, this person will have strong software project management skills. We need someone with a good understanding of Apple proprietary video technologies, such as iTunes video packages (ITMSP), Universal Media Catalog, Http Live Streaming, and a wide variety of image and other asset formats. This person will also have industry audio and video fundamentals, and can apply them to an evolving content production pipeline. Along with these skills, a technical and operational understanding of both post production, and live event management workflows is important.
We are looking for somone who is able to communicate expectations clearly, and keep all cross-functional partners in the loop with a concrete plan of record. Communication is key and strong documentation skills are needed to document and communicate plans, specifications, and plans of records. In order to achieve this, an important skill will to be able to nurture positive relationships across many different types of personalities.
Education & Experience
A BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical field is preferred
