At the outset of employment, the hourly rate paid to workers is $19.01

Employees work from 11 pm to 5 am, Monday to Friday, as per office hours

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Convey goods to or from dock area and trailers for loading and unloading assignments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment of the shelves, pallet area, and workstations by keeping them tidy and removing debris.
  • Conduct a thorough review of the shipment documentation and verify that the freight's specific details, including its weight, type, and dangerous materials, match precisely with the electronic or traditional file system.
  • Ensure the security of the merchandise by utilizing the right equipment and supplies (pallets, straps, and ropes) to secure it in the trailers.
  • Make reparations and restore any goods in a damaged state.
  • Check and complete all mandatory paperwork and reports.
  • Support clients in the process of shipping their goods and handling their documentation.
  • If called upon, take on the task of hostling.
  • Comply with all pertinent laws and regulations, as well as the established policies and procedures of the company.
  • Accomplish any other requirements assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or similar educational attainment is the preferred standard for this role.
  • You should have reached the age of 18 years or above to apply for this.
  • Those who have experience in warehousing, forklift operations, or freight handling are at an advantage.
  • The ideal candidate should have familiarity with hostler/yard mule duties.
  • Capability to carry out basic mathematical functions, with or without assistance from technology.
  • Communication skills are crucial for successful collaboration and teamwork.
  • The proficiency to lift and convey hand-held cargo with varying weights several times a week, move dock plates weighing about 100 pounds, and pull open trailer doors necessitating roughly 75 pounds of lift force, many times per day.
  • Adept in performing bodily actions like bending, twisting, and squatting to transfer cargo through the duration of the work period.
  • The capability to work independently or cooperatively with others.
  • Preferably, the candidate should have prior experience in dock or warehouse work.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • On the dock, people may encounter variable weather, such as wind, rain, exposure to exhaust fumes, air pollution, and a high level of noise.
  • Hourly schedules can be subject to modifications based on operational requirements.
  • Routine interaction with service center personnel within a high-pressure, deadline-oriented work environment.
