This Sr Manager Maintenance invests in the future of Southwest's People by overseeing all Aircraft Maintenance Operations at the Baltimore (BWI) Station. This role will work collaboratively with various Teams and Leaders at the BWI Station in order to champion the preparation of aircraft for airworthiness and ensure ontime departures. This Sr Manager will track and create reports, train and upkeep Southwest's Maintenance programs in BWI, maintain a working relationship with Union Employees and their union bid, and grow/develop the Southwest Family in this space. Job Summary * Manages production workforce consisting of Maintenance Manager, Supervisors, A&P Mechanics, and, in some cases, Facilities Mechanics to assure on-time performance of Southwest Airlines aircraft. Model the Southwest Way * Guide and lead Team Members using SWA talent management practices to coach, develop and engage Employees * Adhere to Company values and competencies to foster a Culture of inclusion, recognition, and support of a safe work environment * Invest in Leadership and self-growth through participating in continuous learning and development Responsibilities * Direct supervision of Manager Maintenance, Supervisor Aircraft Maintenance, Plant Maintenance personnel, and required administrative personnel * Assure all work performed is in accordance with approved maintenance procedures * Coordinate aircraft and facilities maintenance requirements with all pertinent company Departments, specifically through Maintenance Control, to advise of the current and proposed maintenance capability of the B/C Check, Line, Hangar RON, and Shop activities at the assigned maintenance base * Coordinate with Maintenance Planning in planning the appropriate workload to provide maximum utilization of SWA aircraft * Assist the Regional Director of Maintenance in establishing adequate maintenance policies and procedures as related to maintenance production * Monitor productivity and manpower requirements, and coordinate those needs with the Regional Director of Maintenance * Monitor sick leave and leaves of absence of all assigned personnel and take appropriate action if needed * Coordinate with responsible departments, as required, to obtain formal and on-the-job training * Responsible for annual budget forecast and monitoring of budgetary activities * May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, Leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of People and resources * Knowledge and proven experience using integrated airline maintenance business applications * Knowledge of the working systems of an aircraft * Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite applications * Skilled in interpreting and comprehending aircraft technical documents * Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software * Ability to work well under tight time constraints in a dynamic environment to accomplish assignments and projects * Ability to present to all levels of Leadership and regulatory entities * Ability to keep a team motivated and focused, working effectively and efficiently with others Responsibilities This Sr Manager Maintenance invests in the future of Southwest's People by overseeing all Aircraft Maintenance Operations at the Baltimore (BWI) Station.
