This opportunity entails overseeing customer service representatives and handling the front-end operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. You'll aid the Store Manager with the overarching operations of the store in order to meet the organization's goals.
This role involves developing an alternating work schedule with minimum overlapping with the Store Manager. When the Store Manager is unavailable, you're expected to take charge of all store operations. Primary responsibilities include proper merchandising, safeguarding store assets, and enhancing the store's profitability and sales.
As a team leader, you'll also be managing recruitment, talent acquisition, performance evaluation, and direct report discipline to ensure that teams are engaged and performing optimally.
Customer Experience:
- Interaction with customers by greeting them and providing assistance with products and services.
- Efficient resolution of customer complaints and addressing queries to furnish a positive customer experience.
- Encouraging and imparting customer-service best practices to the team.
- Overseeing customer service, providing training and creating strategies for improvements in both front-end and pharmacy operations.
- Holding accountability for enhancing customer service metrics.
Operations:
- Supervision of day-to-day operations and team members, which includes task assignment, devising work schedules, managing shifts, and overall staff management.
- Partnering with external entities to augment the future prospects of in-store operations.
- Aiding the Store Manager in utilizing data and team feedback to make data-driven decisions.
- Regulation of cash handling at the store such as register counts, banking transactions, armored car pickups, safe deposits, and bookkeeping.
- Supervision of front-end and pharmacy inventory, coordinating inventory adjustments and pricing alterations.
- Ensuring that feedback from the Store Manager and District Manager regarding operations is effectively executed.
- Instituting that the interiors and exteriors of the store are clean and maintained well.
- Guaranting all team members are proficient in all technology systems and software.
Full Operation Performance Management:
- Independently analyzing data regarding financials and performance to create action plans to accomplish business objectives.
- Employing operating statements, key performance indicators, and other relevant analytics to drive improvements within the store.
People & Performance Management:
- Leading and training team members; providing mentoring, coaching, and support for team members to mature professionally.
- Managing staff performance by setting goals and observing performance.
- Ensuring proper procedures are followed for selection, recruitment, record retention, and training as required by Company policy and local, state and federal laws.
Training & Personal Development:
- Successful completion of a Store Manager training and development program.
- Monitoring personal performance, welcoming continuous feedback and committing to ongoing development.
Communications:
- Regularly communicating with team members through discussions and meetings.
- Assisting the Store Manager in formulating and conveying the company and store strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
- Possessing a Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record or having satisfactorily completed a Walgreens Community Internship Program.
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, professional business conduct, self-motivation, strong communication skills, and a sturdy business acumen.
- Must have strong proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking.
- Showing willingness to work a flexible schedule, and potentially accept promotion into a Store Manager role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- For external candidates, prior experience in the retail or food industry is preferred.
