Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman will perform highly complex and difficult construction and maintenance activities by operating a variety of heavy equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· May direct and supervise the work of other laborers and equipment operators as necessary to aid in the safe and efficient completion of tasks requiring heavy equipment use.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Operates a variety of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, scrapers, and motor graders to accomplish difficult or highly complex tasks.
· Before operating equipment, conducts routine inspections to identify needed maintenance or repairs.
· Performs or requests necessary repairs and adjustments to equipment.
· Adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and codes.
· Maintains records of time worked and materials used.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Thorough understanding of practices involved in the use of various types of heavy equipment.
· Thorough understanding of maintenance and basic repairs associated with heavy equipment.
· Thorough understanding of safety rules and ability to safely operate machinery.
· Superior skill in operating assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
Education and Experience:
· Experience with extensive and complex drain fields.
· experience digging basements.
· Experience performing complex sewer and water main work.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and read grade stakes.
· New construction experience.
· Valid driver s license.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment.
· Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
· Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
