Job Summary:

Waste Handling Equipment Specialist

Deals with complex preventive maintenance tasks and diagnoses and rectifies a broad range of equipment, such as trucks and yellow iron.

One of the primary responsibilities of this role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring that all activities are carried out competently and in accordance with established policies and procedures:

The successful execution of this position necessitates the ability to competently carry out all essential responsibilities. Additional minor obligations may also be given.

  • Make sure all equipment is functional at all times by conducting necessary repairs on various equipment, which may cover bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
  • The individual possesses the expertise to rectify problems pertaining to differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
  • Conducts regular checks to prevent equipment breakdown based on the maintenance checklist.
  • Documents maintenance activities by filling out various forms such as card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples to track progress.
  • Carries out regular maintenance and servicing tasks on a range of equipment, which includes light plants, water pumps, and welders.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions for each task, and ensure that all employees understand the processes and procedures involved in their job.
  • Carrying out miscellaneous assignments as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Task does not involve directing others.

Additionally, it may require the ability to effectively communicate needed tasks or repairs, diagnose faults, and remedy a variety of problems with vehicles and equipment. Expertise in using fleet maintenance software, as well as knowledge of the Total Tire Maintenance Program, may also be considered necessary.
