Description:

Job will be multi-craft industrial maintenance in a manufacturing facility that makes parts for the automotive industry. Mainly work with robotic welders, conveyors, and other automated industrial equipment. Will use computer software to track maintenance and use of tools and materials.

Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing issues with manufacturing machines and equipment, as well as preventative maintenance.

Ensure the proper and efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative and reactive maintenance on motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, clamps, bearings, bushings, gear boxes, conveyors, and production machines.

Using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machines and fix breakdowns.

Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with machines and fixing breakdowns. Using measuring and testing instruments to ensure that things are within specification. Determining changes needed and adjusting parts and parameters in machines. Using hand and power tools. Ability to perform scheduled maintenance to avoid reactive maintenance. Use lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

Some machine set-ups, product changeovers, and mechanical and technical adjustments for those. Using HMI to change parameters for efficient production.

Working closely with machine operators, engineers, quality control teams, etc. to continue efficient production and work on continuous improvement.

***Will train for 30-60 days at location in Athens, then some Maintenance Techs will be moved to new Decatur location after training, depending on who fits where best.

Maintenance Technician

• Support supervisors and engineers in ensuring the equipment is running quality parts
• Completes job responsibilities in compliance with industry safety standards
• Presses, robotic welders, conveyors, and other automated industrial equipment
• Mechanical aptitude in knowing different tool types for using hand and power tools
• Mechanical and some minor electrical maintenance
• Preventative and reactive maintenance maintenance
• Troubleshooting quality defects is critical, and having an acute attention to detail
• Troubleshooting issues with machinery and equipment, diagnosing problems, and fixing breakdowns as quickly as possible
• Part repair and replacement
• Conveyor maintenance and variable frequency drives
• PLC wiring, installations, and troubleshooting
• Swapping and adjusting drives
• 3-phase motor wiring, adjustments, and troubleshooting
• Reading blueprints and schematics
• Start-up and shutdown of equipment via HMI units
• Change production settings of computer to different speeds, temperature, heights, placements and things specific to each product

Must-Have Skills:

• Industrial maintenance
• Some PLC troubleshooting
• Some robotics and/or automated equipment experience
• HMI/touch screen usage
• Manufacturing machine set-ups, changeover, and mechanical and technical adjustments
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and some electrical issues with manufacturing machines
• Preventative and reactive maintenance
• Mechanical and some electrical maintenance
• Using electrical meters
• Part repair and replacement
• Hand and power tools
• Blueprints and schematics
• Lock out tag out procedures
• Some hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge
• Some sort of quality assurance

Preferred Skills:

• PLC programming or adjustments with ladder logic
• 480v electrical experience
• Robotic welder maintenance
• Conveyor maintenance
• Using SAP, Oracle, or some sort of software to track industrial maintenance

Pay: $28-$30/hr base rate PLUS $1 premium for off-shift

2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00pm to roughly 10:30pm; OT on Saturdays as needed

3rd shift: Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm to roughly 6:30am; OT on Fridays as needed

Decatur night shift: Monday-Friday, 5:00pm to roughly 1:30am; OT on Saturdays as needed
